How To Enrol Your Device in Intune

1. Install the Company Portal App

On your mobile device, open the App Store (iOS), Google Play Store (Android) or Microsoft Store (Windows).
In the search bar, type Microsoft Intune Company Portal and download the app.
Once installed, open the app to begin the setup process.

2. Sign In

When prompted, sign in to the Company Portal app using your Hartpury work or school account.
This account is the email address provided by Hartpury, which is typically in the format Firstname.Lastname@hartpury.ac.uk.
Enter your Hartpury username and password. If multi-factor authentication (MFA) is enabled, follow the prompts to verify your identity (you may need to approve a notification on your phone or enter a code sent to your email).

3. Enrol Your Device

After signing in, the Company Portal app will guide you through the process of enrolling your device in Hartpury’s Intune management system.
You may be asked to grant specific permissions for the app to manage your device, such as allowing access to device settings or enabling remote monitoring.
The app will guide you through installing a device management profileon your device, which allows Hartpury’s IT department to apply security policies and configure settings remotely.
- On iOS devices, the app will direct you to Settings > Profile Downloaded to install the management profile.
- On Android devices, the app will walk you through the process of granting the necessary permissions.

4. Complete Device Setup

Once your device is enrolled, the Company Portal app will check your device’s compliance with Hartpury’s security policies.
Depending on the policies set by Hartpury, you may be asked to complete additional steps:
- Set a passcode for your device to ensure it is secure.
- Enable encryption to protect your data in case your device is lost or stolen.
- Install security updates or other apps required by Hartpury.
- Set up a work profile (on Android) to separate your personal apps and data from your work-related apps and data, ensuring that university information is managed securely.
Make sure your device complies with all the required policies to avoid any issues with accessing Hartpury resources.

5. Access Corporate Resources

Once your device is enrolled and fully compliant with Hartpury’s policies, you will be able to access a range of Hartpury resources, including:
- Hartpury email through Outlook or the email app installed on your device.
- University apps such as Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Teams, and any other university-approved apps.
- Learning resources such as course materials and internal websites.
The Company Portal app may also notify you of updates, required apps, or other resources that need to be installed or updated to maintain compliance with Hartpury’s security and device management policies.

6. Keep Device Updated

To ensure that your device remains compliant with Hartpury’s security policies and can continue to access university resources, regularly update both your Company Portal app and your device operating system.
The Company Portal app will notify you when updates or new security policies are available. Follow the instructions provided to install updates or apply new settings as required by Hartpury.
Periodically check the app for any important notifications or changes to the policies governing your device.

7. Troubleshooting and Support

If you encounter any issues during the process, such as not being able to access resources or difficulties with device setup, contact Hartpury IT support. They can assist with troubleshooting and provide guidance if any specific steps are needed for your device.
