Asset Identification

Overview

Hartpury IT equipment such as Laptops and Workstations all have a unique identifier asset sticker; this sticker contains a six-digit numerical asset tag and barcode that uniquely identifies your device. Ideally please include this ID information when reporting device related faults.

Should you not be able to find the asset sticker on the device you can identify the number from the Start menu, enter ‘cmd’ (Command Prompt) in the search box then press enter. A black Command Prompt dialogue box should open, key in Hostname and press enter. The current registered User and the ID Tag number should be listed.

Type hostname at a command prompt to get your device name.
